What Youll Do as a School Psychologist
As a key member of the student support team, youll provide psychoeducational evaluations, interpret testing data, and support IEP development and implementation. Youll partner with teachers and parents to help students overcome learning and behavioral challenges, contributing to a safe and productive learning environment for all.
Licensing & Credentialing Requirements Louisiana
To work as a School Psychologist in Louisiana, candidates must:

Hold a Specialist or Doctoral degree in School Psychology

Be certified by the Louisiana Department of Education (Ancillary Certificate in School Psychology)

Obtain licensure through the Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Psychologists if pursuing private or independent practice (not required for school-only positions)

Pass the Praxis II School Psychology exam if not already certified
